Eight Hurt In Massive Explosion Due To Train-fuel Tanker Collision
KOTA KINABALU, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- No fatalities were reported, but so far eight people were injured in a massive explosion due to a collision between a train and a fuel tanker in front of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Monday.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib told reporters at the scene that the rest of the passengers in the carriages either managed to escape when the collision occurred about 5.30pm or rescued when firefighters arrived.

The victims were immediately sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, he said.

According to Hamza, the fuel tanker was crossing the railway track to send fuel to a gas station, but was not quick enough to completely cross the track, causing the train to ram into it.

He said the 41-year-old driver was taken by police for further investigation, while the 51-year-old train driver sustained injuries on his legs.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department director Nordin Fauzi said five fire-engines were despatched from the Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Lintas fire stations.

He said they were also assisted by a water tanker and two fire-engines from the Airport Fire and Rescue Unit.

A Malaysia Airlines staff, Busri Asad, 39, related seeing some passengers escaping from the train windows when the collision occurred.

"I also saw people running to the back of the carriages. About 10 minutes after the collision, there was an explosion and a massive fire broke out," he said.

Busri was across the road from the incident after he finished work at the airport.

A press secretary to a state minister, Arshad Hussin, said he was about 700 metres away from the scene.

"I was on my way home and wanted to fill petrol at the gas station. But I decided to stop my car on the roadside when I realised there was a massive fire and heavy smoke from the gas station.

"The traffic (on the three-lane road) stopped before the accident site and other vehicles moved to the far right lane, making the left lane vacant," he said, adding that he also heard two explosions.

He also noticed people in the train running to the back of the carriages.

First Motorola Droid 4

Motorola Droid 4

The first photos of Motorola’s next big Android 4G LTE release, the Droid4, have surfaced, just one day after the handset manufacturer’s super-thin, super-light, 4G-sporting Motorola Droid Razr went on sale at Verizon.
The biggest difference between the Droid Razr and the Droid4 is the slideout QWERTY keyboard. According toDroid Life, which obtained the images, the Droid4 also boasts a 4-inch Super AMOLED Advanced screen, a non-removable battery and two cameras, one of which (presumably an 8-megapixel) is capable of recording 1080p video. The device runs Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread).
The dimensions and processor have not yet been identified, although we can expect the former to be thicker than the Droid Razr, and the processor to be at least as good as the 1.2 GHz dual-core processor that theDroid Razr uses.
The device runs Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

Spec breakdown:
- 4″ screen (assuming Super AMOLED Advanced)
- Full 5-row “illuminated” keyboard
- RAZR styling
- 4G LTE
- Non-removable battery
- Android 2.3.5
- 1080p video recording (assuming 8MP)
- Front camera
- HDMI out
- MotoACTV syncing
The Droid4 features a five-row, “illuminated” slideout keyboard.

A headphone jack is positioned on what appears to be the right side.

The phone has a mini-HDMI port and USB port.

Bangkok floods 'could get worse' - Thai prime minister

- The airport will remain closed until at least November 1st.
- Excess waters in the area around the airport are making it difficult for passengers and employees to access its terminals

Deluged: Flood waters cover the Tarmac at Bangkok's Don Muang airport - which is now closed until November 1st

The Prime Minister of Thailand has warned there could be more flooding in the country's capital city, Bangkok.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that all parts of the capital were vulnerable and up to 1.5m (5ft) of water could flow into some areas.
Thailand has been hit by the worst floods in 50 years and one airport has been forced to close after water ran onto its runways.
Flights around the country from Don Muang airport have been stopped.
The airport, in north Bangkok, was also being used as an evacuation shelter for people whose homes were underwater, but they've now been moved as there are fears the water levels could rise.

People are being urged to leave Bangkok
Since July heavy monsoon rain has left more than 360 people dead and around 100,000 have been forced to leave their homes.
At the moment most of Bangkok is dry, but high tides and rainwater running into the sea could break the city's flood defences.
A third of Thailand's provinces have been affected by the flooding and some parts have been under two to three metres of water for up to three month,
Worries: Central parts of Bangkok are still unaffected, but surrounding areas have been struck by the floods

-Thailand’s main tourist areas – including the coastal hotspots of Phuket, Pattaya and Samui – are so far unaffected by the crisis, but northern and central provinces of the country have been badly hit.

-Almost 10 million people have been displaced, and 370 killed in the unusually heavy rains, which began falling with the start of the monsoon season in late July.

The country has declared a five-day holiday from Thursday in the worst hit areas to try and help people cope.
Schools will close and families are being urged to head for higher ground or leave the city if they can.

Nokia’s First Windows Phone

Lumia 800, the first Windows Phone-based device from the Finnish mobile giant

At the Nokia World conference in London Nokia has officially unveiled Lumia 800, the first Windows Phone-based device from the Finnish mobile giant.
The device is physically very similar to the MeeGo based Nokia N9, and we have no objections to that, as it is a beautiful polycarbonate device with a 3.7-inch, curved-glass, AMOLED screen.
The Nokia Lumia 800 sports a 1.4 GHz processor with hardware acceleration and a graphics processor, 512 MB of RAM and 16 GB of internal user memory. It also has a Carl-Zeiss, f2.2 aperture, 8-megapixel camera designed to work well in low-light environments. It will be available in three colors: cyan, magenta and black.
It’s not just about hardware; Microsoft has also packed the device with free software. Lumia 800 will be the only Windows Phone with Nokia Drive, which offers full, turn-by-turn voice navigation.
Furthermore, the phone is coming with an entirely new service from Nokia called Nokia Music and MixRadio. It gives users a bunch of mixes with full-length music, without the need for a signup, login or a password.
Finally, Nokia announced a partnership with ESPN, showing off a sneak peak of the Sports Hub, which offers users sports news, scores and detailed info about specific leagues, teams and players.

All of the three software features – Nokia Music, Sports Hub and Nokia Drive – are completely free on the Lumia 800.

The estimated retail price for the Nokia Lumia 800 will be approximately €420 ($584).

The device is available for pre-order in select countries now on Nokia’s website. It’s coming to France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK in November; it will be available in Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan before the end of the year, and in further markets in early 2012.

Nokia didn’t say when exactly the device will be available in the U.S., but it did say it plans to introduce “a portfolio of products” in “early 2012″.
